Why this program is different

This isn't a tour of the AWS console.

The curriculum is deliberately progressive. You design one cloud environment in class one and keep extending it network, compute, data, security, reliability, observability, cost, governance and Infrastructure as Code until it becomes a production-oriented AWS architecture you can defend.

The progressive project

One cloud environment. 24 classes. A complete engineering journey.

The capstone isn't a brand-new project created at the end. It's the architecture you've been building since class one, deployed and defended in full.

  6. 24Present the architecture and complete certification-readiness assessment

Where it ends up

The AWS architecture you finish with.

By the final phase your project runs as a secured, highly available, monitored and cost-controlled AWS environment, reproducible as code.

What you will build

Practical work, in every class.

A selection of the hands-on projects in the programme. Every one of the 24 classes has its own.

AWS Architecture Design

Design a basic AWS architecture for a fictional web application, identifying compute, networking, storage, database, identity and monitoring requirements and explaining why each is needed.

Secure AWS Environment

Protect the root account, enable MFA, create appropriate identities and roles, apply least-privilege permissions, and test access.

VPC Build

Build the project VPC, configure public/private subnets and routing, apply security controls, and test connectivity.

Load Balancer & Connectivity Troubleshooting

Place an application behind an Application Load Balancer with health checks and DNS, then troubleshoot deliberately introduced connectivity and security problems.

  • curl
  • ping
  • dig
  • nslookup
  • ss

EC2 Application Deployment

Deploy and configure the project application on EC2, securing access, installing dependencies, exposing required ports and verifying availability.

Storage & Database Layer

Add S3 and EBS storage with access controls, versioning and lifecycle policies, then attach a securely placed Amazon RDS database.

Security Review

Review the project as a security engineer, identify exposed resources and weak controls, and apply foundational AWS security improvements.

Monitoring & Cost Control

Configure CloudWatch dashboards, logs and alarms, estimate project costs, apply tags and a budget, and recommend optimisations.

Infrastructure as Code

Recreate a portion of the manually built infrastructure as code, review changes before applying them, and demonstrate reproducible deployment.

Broken AWS Environment

Investigate a deliberately broken AWS environment with Console, CLI, CloudWatch and networking tools, restore the application, verify recovery and document the incident.
